Schizophrenia

 Homeopathic Treatment of Schizophrenia Patient

INTRODUCTION:- It is a group of mental disorders characterized by disturbances in thought process, perception to things, behavior and communication with society. Deterioration of mental function results in difficulty in self care, work and social relationships. Patient is unable to maintain pace with surroundings. He gradually becomes isolated from society.

Patient shows typical set of symptoms like
a) Delusions -unfounded beliefs in certain things.
b) Hallucinations -perception (feeling) of things from various senses like hearing, taste, vision, smell; which are absent in reality.
c) Incoherence (not understandable) -without logical connection- abnormal behavior.
d) Flat affect-an appearance or mood that shows no emotion.

CAUSES:-
This disease is caused due to defect in genetics of the person. Disturbance in genes lead to production of defected neurotransmitters which results in various disturbed mental expressions like delusion, hallucination, mood swing etc. Genetic factors play important role, as close relatives of a person with schizophrenia are more likely to develop the disorder. Psychological and social factors, such as disturbed family and interpersonal relationships, may also play a role in development of this disease.

TYPES OF SCHIZOPHRENIA:-

2)Paranoid

3) Disorganized

4) Undifferentiated

5) Residual
No single characteristic is present in all types of schizophrenia.

TESTS TO BE DONE:-
Set of symptoms indicate this disease. But confirm diagnosis is difficult.
CT scan of the head may reveal enlarged ventricles in the brain.

CONVENTIONAL TREATMENT
In this mode of treatment, Antipsychotic or neuroleptic medications are used to control the symptoms of the illness only. They don’t have any medication to cure this disease permanently. They use to give patient, sleeping pills (diazepam) so that they remain calm and don’t harm himself or others around him.
Their treatment is continuous, as relapse of symptoms is common when medication is discontinued. They use Psychotherapy, Family therapy and Behavioral techniques which act superficially on mind and bring some results only for a short period of time.
NOW YOU HAVE TO DECIDE WHETHER YOU WANT A PERMANENT CURE OR READY TO TAKE MEDICINE FOR WHOLE LIFE.

HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT:-
In modern science homoeopathy emphasis is given on removal of cause rather than management of symptoms only. In Homoeopathy there is no antipsychotic medicine or sleeping pills because homoeopathy do not treat the disease but it treat the patient.
A right genetic constitutional similimum prescribed to patient can bring drastic changes within very short duration. First of all the violent tendency of patient goes down along with improvement in mental functioning further with clearness of mind.

The limitation of the existing system of medicine, that proclaims these diseases to be incurable(and only controllable),are due to this very fact, that it doesn’t take in to consideration the genetic source and do not give importance to man as a whole. The effect is taken as disease and the effect is treated. Nowhere the genetic tendency is considered.

THUS THEY TREAT THE DISEASE IN MAN AND HOMOEOPATHY TREATS MAN IN DISEASE THAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
